On Tuesday evening, at the Russellville Independent School Board of Education Building, prior to the monthly Board meeting, a lovely reception was held for the retirees for this school year.

The following retirees were honored, recognized, and presented gifts for their service to our schools and upon their retirement:

Nancy Renfro, wife of John David Renfro, retires as assistant manager of the cafeteria at Stevenson Elementary;

Toni Hall, wife of Alan Hall, will retire as kindergarten paraeducator at Stevenson Elementary;

Susan Allpress, wife of John Allpress, retires as band director at Stevenson Elementary;

Michelle Hindman, wife of Stephan Hindman, will retire from special education at Stevenson Elementary;

Claudia Crump, wife of Rich Crump, retired in December as the Central Office Director of Pupil.Personel and Health Coordinator;

and Leon Smith, husband of Karen Smith, will retire as the Superintendent of Russellville Independent Schools effective July 1

An additional celebration of the Stevenson retirees and Mr. Smith said, “I want to thank the Stevenson Staff for inviting me to the Retirement Reception!  I cannot express in words my gratitude and thanks for all you have done for the children of Stevenson Elementary.  As a staff, you have grown so much in the last two years, and the data is proof that Stevenson is headed in the right direction. I also want to express my thanks for the afghan, yearbook dedication, and the bucket drops. It means more than you will ever know. May God bless each of you as you enter hopefully an extended summer vacation by getting out May 19. The best is yet to come for Stevenson Elementary”!
