This month, students at Chandlers School have participated in several acts of service for the community. In February, middle school students planned and organized a Penny War to raise money for needy children in Bangladesh. Homeroom classes across the school competed to raise the most money. On Feb. 10, the students presented the Agape Service Foundation with a check for over $1400 for the children in Bangladesh.

Students who participate in the Gifted and Talented program implemented a leadership project at the local Senior Citizens Center. On Valentine’s Day, they visited the Center, where they enjoyed a potluck meal. The students and Seniors then played Valentine-themed games and enjoyed time together. Cheryl Kerchenski, manager of the Senior Citizens Center, was pleased with the event and noted how much the two groups seemed to enjoy the activity.
