Linda J. Hawkins, an award winning cookbook author, will be at the Logan County Public Library on June 21. Linda is a native of Butler County and has worked as a teacher, owned her own daycare and served as a crisis counselor for women and abused children.

Besides cookbooks, she has written the children’s book Alexander and the Great Food Fight and its spinoffs, which are dietitian-endorsed and curriculum-supported enrichment books. Linda also tours to promote nutritional based enrichment literature for children and to give programs on tea history and etiquette.

InSouthern Seasons with Memory Making Recipes, Linda has compiled a lifetime of her favorite remembrances. Departing from the ordinary cookbook, Linda suggests ways to get everyone involved in creating meals and making memories that will continue from family to family. The book contains over 130 recipes with easy to follow and use basic ingredients. Linda also provides menu tips and snack ideas for picky children.

Linda’s presentation is a part of the library’s Cookbook Club, which is free and meets monthly at the library. The public is invited to attend this program at the Logan County Public Library on June 21 at 5 p.m. in the Program Room.
