Two fun fall events in the Auburn area are planned for this Saturday, Sept. 14 as Southcentral Kentucky welcomes autumn in 2013.

Fall Gathering at the Grove will be held at Federal Grove, an historic home and landmark which is being operated as a restaurant, bed and breakfast, and maple sugar works operation by Terry and Lee Blythe and their family.

It will begin with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner from 5-8 p.m. Reservations are recommended at 542-6106.

Booths will be set up by several vendors, who will offer crafts, antiques, primitives and Kentucky Proud products. Booths are invited to be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  A Civil War Reenactment is also planned.

Organizers say activities will be held all day, rain or shine.

Meanwhile, “Music in the Barn” is also planned at the South Union Shaker Village from 2-5 p.m. Reservations are $15/person | $25/couple | $5/children ages 6-12

Fall breezes will be felt through the 1875 Grain Barn, while listening to live music, and enjoying afternoon dessert! Kick back in a relaxed family atmosphere and partake in some traditional Southern delicacies, including fried peach pies, fresh apple cake, apple cider slushes, and homemade Shaker Sweet Potato Pie ice cream from Chaney’s Dairy Barn. A variety of music will be offered.

It’s sponsored by BB&T and Col. Robert and Cora Jane Spiller.
