Little League All-Stars win district opener on walk-off homer

The Logan County Little League 11-12 All-Stars beat Warren County South 4-1 in their first game of pool play in the district tournament Saturday in an extra inning at Beaver Dam.

Anthony Woodard hit a three-run walk off home run in the bottom of the seveessie Price, nth inning to seal the win. Jackson Hampton led off the seventh with a single. Macon Barrow followed with a single. Then with one out Woodard sent a line drive over the left centerfield fence.

Barrow pitched into the fourth inning, allowing only one hit and no runs. Trevor Scott pitched into the seventh and was relieved by Blake Wood, who got the win by throwing just 11 pitches.

Zach Yates had two hits. Woodard had three hits including the game winning homer.

Jessie Price, Hampton, Barrow, and Wood each had a hit.

Logan plays again Monday at 10 a.m. against Bowling Green East. Other pool play games find the local team going against Franklin Tuesday at 10 and Wednesday at noon against Owensboro Southern.
