Chris Crain named Lewisburg assistant principal

Principal Josh Matthews has announced the hiring of Chris Crain as the new assistant principal at Lewisburg. “I am excited about the hiring of Mr. Crain. He brings a wealth of knowledge especially in the area of literacy. I loved his energy and enthusiasm for students. He will make a great addition to our team.”

Crain brings 18 years of classroom and leadership experience to Lewisburg. He spent the majority of his teaching career at Glasgow Middle School as a teacher-leader where he taught social studies and English/language arts. Additionally, he was a part-time instructor for WKU’s center for literacy in 2015-2016.

He served 14 years as a middle and high school basketball coach as well, spending his last four years of coaching as a head girls’ varsity coach at Glasgow High School. “He brings leadership experience to the job. Mr. Crain believes in building strong relationships and supporting the overall mission of the school,” said Matthews

Chris Crain is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in middle grades education, a Master’s degree in school counseling, and principal certification K-12.

He resides in Glasgow with his wife Jessica and two daughters, Audrey and Claudia.
