The Small Business Development Center at WKU is partnering with Google to offer a free workshop titled “Let’s Put Your Business on the Map.”

The workshop is part of the SBDC Small Business Development Week statewide events. It will assist attendees in learning how to get found online, attract new customers and grow their businesses through Google and will receive free Google promotional items. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited.

The workshop will be held Thursday, May 5, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Logan County Extension Office, 255 John Paul Road, Russellville. RSVP by May 3 by calling the Logan County Chamber of Commerce at (270) 726-2206, registering online at www.wku.edu/sbdc or by emailing Cindy.Thrasher@wku.edu.

Four out of five consumers use search engines to find local information, such as store addresses, business hours, product availability and directions, but only 37 percent of businesses have claimed a local business listing on a search engine. These workshops help businesses get online and connect to their customers.

May 1-7 is National Small Business Week and Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has proclaimed May 1-7 as Small Business Week in Kentucky.
