In sports they call it crunch time. In bull riding they call it white knuckles. For Star Wars fans it is 10 minutes before midnight on Dec. 18 when the new movie is set to open as the Star Wars fan holds tight to his/her plastic light saber.

Basically, it is GO TIME. The last few days before the 2015 Logan County Tobacco and Heritage Festival.

The big event, the big enchilada, is soon approaching nigh and I'm more excited than a puppy lost in a fire hydrant factory!

FIRST SOUTHERN COFFEE AND NETWORKING
A big thanks to the staff of First Southern National Bank for hosting a Coffee and Networking event on Sept. 9. There was a good crowd, great food and even better fellowship. 

YOUTH LEADERSHIP LOGAN HAS FIRST CLASS
The inaugural Youth Leadership Logan Class met Tuesday for the first class of the year. The theme was History for this month and the 20 sophomores from Russellville and Logan County high schools were given a great overview of history at the museum in Auburn and through a couple of walking tours in Russellville. I'm really proud of this project and the class of well-behaved and well-spoken students!

MILITARY NEEDS HELP WITH GOLF SCRAMBLE FOR A GOOD CAUSE
There is no better cause than our military and their families and we at the Chamber are hoping our membership can help the 6-101st Combat Aviation Brigade with its first annual Shadow golf Scramble. The scramble, being put on by the Screaming Eagle Aviation Association as well, is having the scramble at the Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, on Sept. 25 with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Space is limited to the first 60 teams who sign up. The cost is $80 per person and includes the green and cart fees, range balls, lunch and golfpPolo. Contact CW2 Aaron Bibbee @ 931-542-7973 for more information. We also have a few forms left at the Chamber Office if you want to come by and pick one up.

The real reason for the scramble is to help soldiers and their families who are returning from overseas to readjust and to do something nice for the children and families of soldiers as well.
