2026 Spring Community Education Classes
Learn General Aviation and How to Become a Pilot in 5 sessions
This program will teach you the basics of Aviation. Classes will begin Tuesday, April 14, and will continue through each Tuesday until May 12. Will be held at the Russellville-Logan Co. Airport from 6-7:30 p.m. The instructor is Robert Mclellan, a Licensed Private Pilot. The cost will be $60.00 for 5 classes. Sessions will include Communication, Navigation, Airplane Construction, Pre-flight Procedures, and Flight Planning. Additional information will be given on the steps required to begin your journey to become a pilot. (Actual airplanes will be involved.) So, bring your dream of flight, it might just take off! Please register on or before Monday, March 23,.

 

Canva: Design Smarter, Not Harder in 5 sessions

This program will teach you how to easily create flyers, social media posts, presentations, resumes, invitations, newsletters, and more—without needing graphic design experience! Classes will begin Tuesday, March 3, and will continue through each Tuesday until March 31. The classes will be at the Old Vo-Tech building adjacent to Russellville High School. Classes will be from 5-6 p.m. The instructor is Madison Rose Kirby. The cost will be $10 per student per class for 5 classes. Computers will be available for use, but you may bring your own. Please register on or by Feb. 26.

 

Basic Painting

No Experience Needed—Just Bring Your Creativity in 9 sessions

This program will teach participants basic painting skills while expressing their creativity. This class will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from March 2 through March 30. Scheduled dates: March 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, and 30. The classes will meet at the Russellville Technology Center at 210 East 7th Street. The instructor is Allie Robertson, a local artist! The cost is $15 per student per class for 9 classes. Each student is asked to bring a small blow dryer..bregister on or before Feb. 25.

 

Healthy Meals Made Simple in 4 Sessions

This program will teach participants basic cooking skills and cooking healthy meals! Classes will begin Tuesday, March 3, and will continue through each Tuesday until March 24. The classes will be at the Old Vo-Tech building adjacent to Russellville High School. Classes will be from 5-6:30 p.m. The instructor is Courtney Rogers. The cost will be $25 per student per class to cover the cost of the groceries. Each student is asked to bring a container with them for leftovers after each class. Please register on or before Feb. 25..

Community Education is a comprehensive approach to learning that extends beyond traditional schooling focusing on the educational and social needs of all community members.
