Brother Joe's Country Ham Breakfast Friday morning

The annual Country Ham Breakfast is more than just a good meal; it’s a real Logan County tradition, born from the big heart of Brother Joe Carrico.

Decades ago, Bro. Joe started the breakfast so neighbors could enjoy fellowship and make sure every child had a little Christmas joy, no matter their circumstances.

For years, we’ve gathered over country ham and biscuits to support Bro. Joe’s Family Christmas. It’s become a special part of our community spirit.

After a short break, Independence Bank stepped up in 2024—bringing the breakfast back to life with hams from our local 4-H youth and their helping hands.

Now, a fresh chapter begins in a story that still puts neighbors first. The tradition keeps going, with folks coming together to help families and honor Bro. Joe’s legacy the way he would have wanted.

In 4-H, we pledge our hands to larger service and our hearts to greater loyalty—and that’s exactly what this event represents. Together with Independence Bank and our community, Logan County 4-H youth are proud to lend their hands and hearts to carry on a tradition rooted in giving back.

This year’s Country Ham Breakfast is this Friday, Nov. 21, from 6–9 a.m. at the Logan County Extension Office.

Those eating are asked to donate $10 or more. Please call 270-946-7151 to let planners know how many will be eating.

Every plate supports Agape’s Bro. Joe’s Family Christmas annual ministry—still making a difference, one biscuit at a time
