RHS returning to in-person classes Sept. 28

We have a lot of changes that are getting ready to happen as Russellville Independent Schools prepare to come back to school in-person on Monday, September 28. Please take a moment and browse through this newsletter so that you have the most up to date information available! Thanks and everyone have a wonderful and safe weekend as well all hopefully get outside in this nice Fall air!  



RISD to Return to In-Person Classes, Monday, 9/28

On Monday, September 28th, Russellville Independent Schools will return to in-person classes. 


Russellville High School will return in an A-B Model. Students will be grouped based on Last Name. 


Group A - Students with last names beginning with A through J                                          

  • Group A will attend in-person classes on Mondays and Wednesdays

  • Group A will learn from home on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Group B - Students with last names beginning with K through Z

  • Group B will attend in-person classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Group B will learn from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

General Reminders

  • Sign up for daily Meal Delivery Services HERE                    

  • Wash your masks! They need to be cleaned too! 

  • Maintain social distancing of 6 feet or greater! 

  • Wash hands regularly. 

  • Be aware of potential COVID related symptoms.   

  • Check all Google Classrooms DAILY!

  • Required Google Meets happen DAILY!

Football Homecoming Information  

RHS does plan to host Homecoming Court for Football in a socially distanced and safe manner. 


The current date is Friday, October 23rd against Crittenden Co. 


As the school moves closer to the date, we will consult with the Board, Superintendent, and local Health Officials regarding allowances for Homecoming Court, etc. More info in the coming weeks. 



Food Services - Meal Deliveries

If you haven’t already, please sign up for Meal Deliveries. You can do that HERE.


Breakfast Meal Drop Off is between 8:15 - 10:00 in the morning.

Lunch Meal Drop Off is between 12:15 and 1:15 in the afternoon. 



Google Meet Schedule - The Last Week! 

Reminder: Students are REQUIRED to attend the content based Google Meet for each of their classes once a week on the designated day. 


This will be the LAST week of required whole class Google Meets


IMPORTANT - Beginning on Monday, 9/28, Teachers may require students to participate in Google Meets during the school day hours when students are learning from home.

College Application - Yes, already! 

Time to begin the college application process.  Make a goal of applying for at least  3 colleges before fall break (10/5).  

IMPORTANT ~ You will need to set up a Parchment account to send transcripts. 

 You can pick up your registration code for Parchment in the front office of the high school.




ACT Information 

RHS administers the ACT FREE of charge on the following times:


October - Juniors - Juniors must sign up for one of the Saturday ACT’s offered in October. This ACT is paid for by RHS. You will need to get a voucher from Mrs. Naylor or speak with her regarding getting signed up. FRIDAY (9/25) is the last day to sign up! 


February - Sophomores - All Sophomores will have the opportunity to take the ACT on a TBA date in February, as paid for by the Russellville Board of Education as part of RISD progressive investment in providing students with multiple testing opportunities. 


March - Juniors - All Juniors will take the state ACT test for KY.

Free COVID Testing - Each Tuesday

Weekly COVID testing available at Logan County High School.


It is open to all Logan Co. Schools and Russellville Independent Schools staff, students and families.


 In week two it will open up to anyone who wants to be tested, with priority to students, staff and families of both school districts.


 It is best to call the number below to get scheduled (it will make the process go much faster). 


Test results within three days.


Testing will be drive thru and will be located in the front of Logan County HS.
