As we head into our last week of school before Christmas Break, I want to wish all families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our RMS family.

In the Classroom (Academics)

7th Grade Travels to Public Theater of Kentucky

One of our goals at RMS this year was to extend learning outside of our RMS building to enrich every student's learning experience. Last week Our 7th graders traveled to Public Theater of Kentucky in Bowling Green to watch “The Best Christmas Ever.” Our students had an excellent time and enjoyed their experience.

Mr. Weathers’ 6th Grade Science Class

Moon Phases, Lunar Eclipse, Solar Eclipse and other projects on display for Mr. Robbie Weathers’ 6th grade Science Class.

Cornerstone Assessments

On December 18th & 19th (Wednesday & Thursday) students will be taking their second Cornerstone Assessment. Study Guides for each tested course went home today. Please take this time to review with your child about our upcoming assessment. 12 days of Christmas (Per Mrs. Elizabeth Dye)

Students and staff of RMS and RHS, please join us as we celebrate the holiday season with themed dress-up days for the 12 days leading up to Christmas break. 12 Days of Christmas

Spread Kindness at RMS

Our Kindness wall, students that need a kind or encouraging word can pick one out for the day!

Food Bank Classic Girls Basketball Tournament

Russellville Girls High School Basketball will be hosting the second annual Food Bank Classic December 19-22. If you want to watch some basketball please come out. Teams will be competing on the hardwood and for a cause, please come and donate non-perishable items to your favorite team.

Lots of Great Art and Music on Monday –

Come check it out!

The RHS Winter Art show and RMS/RHS Christmas Band shows are this Monday (12/16). The Art will be on display in the lobby from 5-7 p.m. and the Concert will begin at 7 p.m. Bring a loved one and come see all the awesome work that our students have done!

It’s Getting Cold! No Child Should Be Cold!

With the temperatures dropping it’s getting to be the season for warm clothing. No child should be without warm clothes for the Winter and the RHS and RMS Family Resource Center is here to make sure that doesn’t happen. If you have a child or know of a child in need of warm clothing such as long pants, long sleeve shirts, jackets, or footwear, please do not hesitate to contact RJSHS FRYSC Coordinator Debbie Browder by email at Debbie.Browder@russellville.kyschools.us or you may call her at (270) 726-4799.

At Home (Parent Engagement)

At RMS, all teachers place their Lesson Plans for the week online. This allows you to see exactly what is happening in their classes each day. You may access these plans online by following the following steps:

- Go to the RMS Website

- Click on the Staff Directory Tab

- Click on “Search” to get a full list of all RMS Faculty

- Find your child’s teacher’s name

- On the FAR RIGHT of the screen, click on “VIEW MORE” for that teacher

- Click on the section, “See what we are doing this week in class
