Christmas making its home in Auburn this weekend

Christmas will be headquartered in Auburn this weekend.

It begins Friday night with the Tree Lighting Ceremony. It will be held at 7:30 downtown at 103 East Main.

Saturday is devoted to Christmas Open Houses from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Details can be found on the Auburn KY Merchants Facebook page.

Auburn’s Christmas Parade will be Sunday’s feature. The parade, which has the theme The Grinch Saved Christmas, starts at 2 p.m., but lineup begins at 1:15 on the football field at McCutchen-Coke Park. A decorated float contest will be held with monetary prizes for the top three floats.

The donation of new toys for Auburn School’s Family Resource and Youth Service Center is requested.

After the parade, cookies and cocoa will be available along with a chance to visit with Santa will be held at the Auburn Fire Department.
