LCHS Principal's Report for May 18

With just one week of school remaining, students have finished their Advanced Placement (AP) exams and are preparing for finals next week. We hope that your children have had a successful year and are looking forward to a rewarding, relaxing summer.

Signing Day 

Members of the Class of 2018 had nothing but positive things to say about the "Signing Day" in which they participated yesterday as we recognized those students who are choosing to attend post-secondary schools. Also, thank you to the parents who were able to attend. We anticipate expanding the event each year. 

SBDM Council

Council members for the 2018-19 school year are: Ms. Dedra Adler, Mr. David Dayton, Ms. Tammi Jones, Ms. Amy Hinton and Mr. Jimmy Kent Wilson.

LC Track to state

The following LC students are participating in the state track and field championships in Lexington this weekend: Gage Cousineau, Joey Higgins, Monica Hines, Sawyer Hopkins, Evan Hughes, Meredith Johnson, Tanner Morrow, John Hendricks, and Reggie Powell. 

Softball All-Region

Congratulations to Brea Croslin (first team) and KJ Page (second team) for earning All-Region honors. 

Freshmen Orientation 

The Class of 2022 will have its orientation to LCHS Monday, July 23 from 9:30 – Noon. Detailed information has been sent to each middle school. Please contact Ms. Alissa Todd at 270.726.8454 if you need more information
Accreditation

As the district prepares for an accreditation visit in October, we are asking for parents to provide feedback from now through May 31 via a survey at https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/72114/p253.

Governor’s Scholars

Congratulations to the following LCHS students for being selected for the prestigious Governor’s Scholar’s Program: Blayke Bingham, John Hendricks, Jilliam McLellan and Cody Watkins.

Free sports physical

 

LCHS will be hosting a Free Sports Physical night on June 6th for rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Thanks to the following sponsors for putting on this wonderful event for our student-athletes: Med Center Health, Orthopedics Plus Physical Therapy and Medical Center Orthopedics.

Archery

The following archers competed at the National Archery tournament: Taylor Haley, Lindsay Allen, Mark Lynch, Paige Baldwin, CJ Raymer, Rhonda Reeves, Jenna Robertson, Chloe Watkins, Michael Drake,Jaden Hayes, Christian Skipworth, Fayden Beadnell, Dana Boone, Lindsey Brinkley, Sydnee Claypool, Faith Crafton, Alexis Drake, Calie Dowell, Kaylen Skipworth, and Jayden Bowersock.

Graduation

The ceremony will be held Sunday, May 27 at 4 p.m. at Diddle Arena on WKU’s campus.

Naval Academy signee 

Logan County High School is proud to announce Mr. Riley Wharton signed with the U.S. Naval Academy on Monday May, 14 in a ceremony in the library.

Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students for recently being selected as “Students of the Month” by their teachers: Ashlynn Canler, Zach Joiner, Hanna Crutchfield, Kaitlyn Norris, Ashley Engler, Rachel Pitts, Bailey Howell, Caleb Jenkins, and Peyton Rowe.
