What a great week we had! Monday saw several universities descend on the campus of Russellville Jr./Sr. High School for the awe inspiring Eclipse. Superintendent Bart Flener rolled out the Russellville Ready Program to parents and community members, and Friday night saw Coach John Myers win his 140th game as a head coach as the Panthers downed Ft. Campbell.

Sports Happenings

Middle Softball picked up another solid win against Butler County this past week. The Lady Panthers play three big games this week, facing Bowling Green, Franklin, and Logan County. Follow them on Twitter @RVKSoftball

Panther Football team won its home opener 20-6 over the visiting Ft. Campbell Falcons.

Individual Accomplishments of Note

Russellville Science teacher Robbie McLellan brought a whole lot of attention to Russellville on the day of the eclipse. Through his work with several organizations—NASA, Temple University, University of Kentucky, and Mississippi State University, Russellville was a hub of activity as several high altitude balloons were launched to stream the eclipse live to over 55 partner universities.

Middle Schooler Addie Mosier threw a no-hitter against Butler County this week for the Lady Panther Softball team. In addition to not allowing a hit, Mosier went 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs.

Student Expectations

All classrooms in Russellville JR/SR High School have been working on creating a universal understanding of the five fundamental expectations for students at Russellville. These are:

1.     Be Kind

2.     Show Respect

3.     Do the right thing.

4.     Get after it.

5.     Rep RVK
