We trust that your children are having a positive learning experience at LCHS, and we appreciate your continued support of our efforts. Anticipation is building as our fall student-athletes are beginning to take to the fields, courts, and trails in their respective sports. We wish them the best in their upcoming seasons, and we invite you and your families to attend LCHS events to support our teams. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Have a great three-day weekend.

Eclipse

Our science teachers have worked diligently to educate all of our students about Monday’s eclipse. Please take every safety precaution to ensure a positive memorable experience. Students are to complete an NTI assignment to turn in Tuesday when they return.

Spirit week / Pep rally

Everyone is encouraged to take part in Spirit Week next week. The attachment outlines the dress-up days. We will have a pep rally Thursday during eighth period prior to Friday night’s first home football game.

Early release Friday

Next Friday (Aug. 25) students will be dismissed at 1:00. The other early release Fridays are Nov. 17, Jan. 26, Feb. 16, March 16 and April 27.

Midpoint of quarter

Hard to believe, but next Friday is the official midpoint of the quarter. You are encouraged to access your child’s grades, attendance, and behavior via the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus at any time. If you need login information, please contact guidance secretary Misty Latham at 270. 726.8454.

Open House

We are going to have an “Open House” Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 3:30 – 6 p.m. here at the high school. This evening will provide a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers and to discuss the progress being made. In addition to the KHEAA representative being here to discuss ways to financially prepare for college, we will have information for parents about how to help prepare their children for the post-secondary world. More information will be provided soon.
