On Aug. 1, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed 200 women as they gathered at the Logan County Extension Office to "Celebrate Women in Business."

Brittany Young, "Certified Celebrator" of Bowling Green, joined us as keynote speaker and delivered an inspiring message about social media and getting yourself, your business, and your message out on Facebook and to the people. She spoke of engaging your audience and being professional and caring.

It was a beautiful day, both inside and out. Handmade paper flowers in shades of pink, black, white, and gold lit up the room and went right along with the "WIBGOESDIY" theme.

Sylfoni's catered the meal serving lasagna, salad and garlic bread.

It was a wonderful day and we were so proud to have the support of our sponsors: Crabtree Furniture, Edward Jones-Marilyn Dillingham, Lewisburg Banking Co., Logan Aluminum, and Carr, Riggs & Ingram. And we certainly don't want to forget our door-prize sponsors Creative Canvas by You, Electric Plant Board, Mandy Henley of Lewisburg Bank, and Logan County Tourism!

Billie-Shaye Harper of Billie-Shaye Style Photography took the pictures.

Our Women in Business Committee was both an innovative and talented group of ladies that pulled this event off with flying colors. A big thanks to Kim Reeves of Electric Plant Board, Amanda Gossett of Amanda Gossett State Farm, Mandy Henley of Lewisburg Banking Company, Dee Dee Brown and Janie Gregory of Logan County Tourism and Convention Commission, and, of course, Chamber staff, Tammy Chandler Tinsley and Karen Logan.

Also, other volunteers for this event included Paula Timberlake of LEAD, Marie Gamble of the Chamber Board and MaryAnn Henry of Auburn Senior Center.

Shown, from left, in the top photo, are Mandy Henley of Lewisburg Banking Company, Karen Logan of the Logan Chamber, Dee Dee Brown of Logan County Tourism & Convention, guest speaker Brittany Young, Amanda Gosset of the insurance company named for her, and Tammy Tinsley of the Logan Chamber.
