Russellville Jr. Beta wins awards at state

Russellville Independent School’s Jr. Beta students, grades 6th-8th, attended the Jr. Beta Kentucky State Convention in Louisville Jan, 16-18.This group of students had received an "award" earlier this year for their 25th year in Jr. Beta.Thirty-one total students attended and were also recognized at the Convention for Growth.

The following students qualified for Jr Beta Nationals: Natalie Cates, 8th grade - placed 2nd in photography; Graciann Beard, 8th grade - placed 5th in jewelry; Jermani Morris, 7th grade - placed 5th in sculpture; Engineering Team placed 5th - Holden Kennedy, 7th grade; Reed Parrish, 6th grade; Caleb Ragland, 6th grade; Abryian Rodriguez, 6th grade; and Jayce Sparks, 6th grade.

Sponsors for Jr. Beta are as follows: Tera Ragland, Conrad Reding, 6th grade; Tina Shoemake, 7th grade; and Steven McGhee, 8th.Mr. McGhee was unable to attend this trip, so Rebecca Gwynette assisted.

The National Convention is scheduled to be held June 15-18, in Oklahoma City.
