Chandler’s fifth through eighth grade band students recently traveled to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville to attend a free Young People’s Concert, performed by the Nashville Symphony.

The theme of the performance was “Picture This: Musical Imagery,” which was specifically programmed for grades 5 through 8. Throughout the program students were shown how music can create exciting stories and beautiful landscapes by using our imaginations as they listened to the performance.

They were able to hear music by some of the world’s greatest composers, including Rossini, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and Ravel.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the band students at Chandler’s, and they hope to make this an annual trip.
