The Russellville High School Marching Panthers have earned a spot in the state Class A Band semifinals Saturday.

Principal Kim McDaniel says, “Congratulations to our Marching Panther Band, Mr. Brian Brown and his staff on placing third overall at the West Regionals this weekend. The final score was 79.3, which means they missed a Distinguished rating by .7 of a point! We couldn't be more proud of the accomplishments of this group of students.”

Jada Morris is the field commander.

WRUS Radio reports that the band will leave RHS shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. Supporters of the band and of RHS are encouraged to line up on East Ninth Street at that time to greet the band as it heads toward Lexington.
