Cougar band to be honored Friday before heading to state

The Logan County High School Band will be honored with a Cougar Walk on Friday at 2:25 p.m. as they board buses to go to Berea for state band competition on Saturday, according to Principal Casey Jaynes.

At Regional Competition Saturday in Hopkinsville’s Stadium of Champions, the Marching Cougars earned the right to advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2008. They will be traveling to Berea to compete among large bands Saturday at Madison Southern High School at 11 a.m. Russellville time.

After leaving LCHS Friday, they are scheduled to travel around Carrico Park Square in Russelville where friends and fans will be waiting to wish them well .

The Marching Cougars are directed by David Dayton and Mandy Beasley, and their field commander is Molly Bell.
