Nominations being accepted for Chamber awards

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Small Business of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Farm Family of the Year Awards. Everyone is welcome to make nominations.

Nominees for Small Business of the Year can range from an individual business owner to a business with up to 50 employees. Criteria considered include the business’ contributions to the community, company image, employee development, and business growth. 

Nominees for Teacher of the Year must be a full-time teacher in one of the school systems or other educational institutions within Logan County. Criteria considered include the ability to inspire love of learning in students, willingness to work with fellow professionals and contribute to the field of education, and ability to encourage the maximum level of achievement in all students.

To be considered for the Farm Family of the Year, nominees must be a resident of Logan County, primary source of income must be from farming and must have been in agri-business for at least five years.

Winners are chosen based on the criteria set forth in the nomination forms and by volunteer selection committees. Those chosen will be honored at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in February. Nomination forms are available at the Chamber office or online. Deadline for nominations is Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, 4 p.m. Don’t wait to the last minute to make your nomination!
