One of America’s most beloved Christmas dramas will be both ‘aired’ and seen in Russellville this week.

The Russellville Arts Council will present It's a Wonderful Life as a LIVE Radio Play Thursday - Saturday, November 7 – 9, at 7 p.m. each day and on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Historic Logan County Courthouse. Tickets are $5 at the door with those 13 and under admitted free.

Cast members are Dave Dockins, Pete Lehman, Scott, Rachael & Aaron Cunningham, Kenny O'Dell, Vickie Costello, Janie Gregory, Keyleigh Harlan, Suzann Coles, Darlene Gooch and Jarrett Hamilton, who will bring this much loved story to the stage.

Instead of acting out the roles with memorized lines, sets and extensive lighting, a radio play involves cast members reading their lines and often playing several parts. Gooch says that a full cast would be 42 different actors, but only two people play just one role.

Sound effects are very important in radio productions. Jimmy Maxwell is in charge of that, and Eddie Brooks is in charge of sound and lighting. Vickie Costello is in charge of music.

Doors will open 30 minutes before the performances begin, at 6:30 for the three night shows and 1:30 Sunday.

The Russellville Arts Council consists of chair Larry Vaught, co chair April Kutzman, treasurer Carl Seidler, secretary Darlene Gooch. Other members are Elizabeth Holland, Jason Kutzman, Jack Whipple and Polly Porter.
