RHS students earn honors in WKU Math Contest

Five of the 11 students from Russellville High School who competed in the WKU Math Contest not only placed in events, but they combined for 10 awards, including four first places.

Top three finishers in each event received medals. RHS contestants earned four firsts, four seconds and two thirds. All of the medalists are underclassmen.
Aliza Wilson led the way with two firsts, two seconds and a third. She won first place Word Problems (11th Grade), first place Algebra (11th Grade), second place Biology (9-10th Grade), second place Graphing (11th Grade), third place Geometry (10th Grade).

Cassie Estes won two events in different age groups. They were first place Geometry (9th Grade), first place Graphing (10th Grade).

DJ Smiley earned second place in Geometry (10th Grade).

Sam Edge took second place Geometry (11th Grade).

Ella Kate Parrish earned third place Word Problems (11th Grade).

RHS math teacher Stephen Childers accompanied the team to the contest.
