One Logan County team played very well and went into overtime Tuesday. The other had a sub-par performance. The outcome was the same, though, with both heading home with road losses.
After leading most of the game, the Lady Cougars lost at Allen County-Scottsville 79-75 in overtime. After trailing by 5 points at halftime and 10 after three quarters, the Cougars fell 62-47.

Logan started strong, building a 20-11 lead in the first quarter with Kayla MacAllister hitting a pair of 3-pointers and totaling 10 points.
The Lady Patriots cut the lead to 24-21, but Meagan Williams hit a 3-pointer that bounced on the rim before falling in. Logan led 35-32 at the half, getting big boosts from Markita Pheal and Miranda Rone off the bench.
Senior Michelle England had problems staying on the floor. She picked up her third foul in the second quarter and her fourth in the third quarter.

AC-S took a 40-39 lead in the third period, the home team's first since 2-0. Ann Dorris' 3-pointer pulled the Lady Cougars to within 52-51 going into the final period. With the score tied at 63-63, Dorris hit a pair of free throws to give her team the lead with 53 seconds remaining in regulation. Pheal doubled the lead on an assist from Sara Speck after a steal by Dorris.
A 3-pointer cut the lead to one, but Dorris, who hit 8 of 10 free throws for the game, canned a pair to make it 69-66. A win was within reach, but the Lady Patriots' Chelsea Taylor hit a trey with 3.9 seconds left. After a couple of turnovers within two seconds, Speck got off a shot but it was just short at the buzzer.

AC-S scored the first six points of overtime and Logan couldn't catch up, despite a 3-pointer by England.

MacAllister had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and a block for the Lady Cougars. Dorris also had 18 points and added 7 rebounds. "Every since Ann came back from an injury, she has been on fire," Coach Scot MacAllister said.
Pheal was solid off the bench with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Even though Speck was just 2 of 10 from the field, she had 8 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block. Rone added 8 points, 4 rebounds and a block.

"It had to be an exciting game for the fans to watch," Coach MacAllister said.
