Former Logan County High School boys basketball coach Jeff Rogers has been named head coach of Thomas More College in Northern Kentucky. He has
served as assistant coach at the 1,500-student school in the two years since he left LCHS.
Athletic Director Terry Connor made the announcement Thursday that Rogers would become the Saints' eighth head coach in school history.
The program began in 1947.
“We are extremely excited to have Jeff Rogers take over our men’s basketball program,” commented Connor. “He has a tireless work ethic and is a
great teacher of the game of basketball. We are very confident that he will help maintain our position among the conference and region’s best
academically and athletically.”
The Saints are coming off a 19-9 season and won both the regular season and the tournament of the President's Athletic Conference.. The reached
the Division III NCAA Tournament for the first time in several years before losing to Capitol College in Columbus, Ohio in the first game. Five seniors
were on the roster
The year befoire-- Rogers' first on the staff-- the Saints had an 11-16 record. They had gone 3-23 in Coach John Ellenwood's first season as head
coach.

Rogers. "I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue building a successful program at Thomas More. I want the team to be the best team academically
in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.”
A native of Louisville, Rogers earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 1989 and a master’s degree from the University of
Louisville in 1996. He began his coaching career in 1989 when he served as an intern with USA Basketball at the United States Olympic Committee Complex
in Colorado Springs for a year. Then he served as an intern with the University of Kentucky Basketball program from 1990-1992. After leaving Kentucky,
Rogers served as the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Missouri/Kansas City from 1992-1996.
In 1996 Coach Rogers returned to Kentucky and served as a high school head boys coach for 10 years. According to a press release from the college,
Rogers’ teams won over 70 percent of their games, compiling a 201-84 record (.705), winning four straight district championships and winning a
regional championship twice.
At Logan County, his two teams combined for a record of 15-38 (28.3 percent). The highlight of his stay here was reaching the finals of the
Roy's-First Southern National Bank Christmas Tournament, including a win over powerful Dyer County, Tenn. But the Cougars lost 10 of the final 11 games
he coached at LCHS, and the team finished 10-17.
Rogers and his wife Stacy reside in Hebron, Ky. with their three daughters, Emma, Aubrey and Allyson.
Founded in 1921 by the Benedictine Sisters as Villa Madonna College, Thomas More now serves approximately 1,500 full- and part-time students in
Crestview Hills, Ky., just minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
