Western Kentucky University and Houchens Industries announced an addition to their long-standing partnership on Monday with the creation of the Houchens Industries Athletic District. The agreement is for 10 years and runs through the 2033-34 athletic season.
"We are tremendously appreciative of our long-standing partnership with Houchens Industries," WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart said. "Their consistent support in countless ways has played a vital role in our consistent success and ability to remain nationally relevant."
"Houchens Industries is proud of our long-standing partnership with WKU Athletics," Houchens Industries CEO and Chairman of the Board, Dion Houchins said. "Investing in our local communities is part of who we are. We are thrilled to see our partnership expand on campus with the Houchens Industries Athletic District. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting WKU's current and future student-athletes."
Houchens Industries is already synonymous with WKU Football, and the name and brand will now be an integral part of all of WKU Athletics.
This naming agreement includes global naming rights for the designated Houchens Industries Athletic District, which includes E.A. Diddle Arena, Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium, Nick Denes Field, the WKU Soccer/Softball Complex, and the Tim and Sarah Ford Fieldhouse.
