LCHS cheerleaders reach national finals at Disney

CHEERLEADING - The Cheerleaders are at the ESPN World Wide Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida competing in Nationals. The Lady Cougar Cheer squad finished 1st place in their group on opening rounds and received an automatic bid to the finals on Monday afternoon. Only the top 9 out of 36 teams make it to the finals. Good luck, Ladies!

GIRLS BASKETBALL  -The Lady Cougars are now 14-11 on the season after a rough week against the #1 and #2 teams in the region, finishing 3-3 in district play. They will end the regular season with two away games this week followed by two home games next week. 
 
BOYS BASKETBALL - The Cougars dropped two games last week moving their record to 11-13 on the season and 3-3 in district play. As the season is coming to a close, the Cougars will play three games this week and two next week. They will be at home against Dawson Springs on Tuesday night, at Allen County Thursday night, and back at home Saturday vs. Daviess County. 
 
The 13th District tournament for boys & girls basketball will be played at Russellville the week of February 26. The schedule will be released Thursday after the district meeting. 
 
SWIMMING - The Cougars/Lady Cougars received good news this weekend: Congratulations to Senior Sarah Gill, Junior Maddie Burgess, 8th Grader Leah Dukes, and 7th Grader Allie Crocker for making it to the next round in the State tournament! Sarah Gill is competing individually in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle. Both girls will also compete in relays. 
 
Junior Aiden Dilliha, Freshman Colling Dilliha, 8th Grader Neal Winchester, and 7th Grader Cooper Burgess made it to the Semi Finals too in the boys competition! Aiden Dilliha will be competing individually in the 100m Freestyle, and the Boys 400m Freestyle will be racing as well.
 
Semi-State will be Saturday at Russell County High School. Good Luck Cougars/Lady Cougars! 
  
ARCHERY - The archery team competed at Warren East this past weekend and finished 2nd overall. They will be back in action this weekend at Butler County.   
 
TRACK  -   Two track athletes competed in Louisville this past weekend in an indoor track meet. Hunter Holloway set a new personal best and indoor track record in high jump with a 6'8'' jump. Aubreanna Evans also competed in the shot put event and is currently ranked 5th in 2A state.

  • 2/17/24- Boy JV/Varsity Basketball double header vs Daviess County (6:00)
  • 2/17- Archery @ Butler County 
  • 2/17- Swim Semi-State @ Russell County
