Only two schools will be playing each of the first two nights when the 13th District Basketball Tournaments begin next week in Elkton.

At Tuesday’s district meeting, the Logan County Cougars joined the Russellville Panthers in winning tiebreakers for district seedings.

As a result, Logan and Todd teams will play both games on Monday night while Russellville takes on Franklin-Simpson in both contests on Tuesday.

Coach John Tinsley’s Cougars and Franklin-Simpson tied for first among the boys teams. By winning the coin flip, the Cougars are the top seed and will play the host Rebels, who lost on the court to the Panthers last Friday and then lost the coin flip for the third seed to RHS Wednesday.

The girls brackets were already decided with Coach Finley Baird’s Lady Cougars first, Coach Cameron Jackson’s Lady Panthers second, Franklin-Simpson third and Todd Central fourth.
