Crews from every county in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Three area, including Logan, will be pretreating roads Friday and Saturday in preparation for possible winter weather expected to arrive early Monday morning.

Temperatures on Sunday could be too cold to pretreat roads so the District Three. Crews mobilized Friday afternoon and began spraying layers of brine starting with the A routes. All routes will be pretreated and any that didn’t get finished Friday will be finished Saturday.

The snow and ice team for the district will be monitoring weather forecasts as the weekend progresses and have plans in place for crews to report in if winter weather does hit the district area.

Motorists are encouraged to monitor weather conditions and follow the District Three Twitter account at KYTCDISTRICT3 as well as the district Facebook Page at KYTCDISTRICT3 to get the latest news regarding roads in the District 3 area. Kentucky 511 will have road conditions, crashes, traffic and other delays listed on the website at 511.ky.gov , as well as the KY511 smartphone app.
