Russellville High School won the overall championship of the District Governor’s Cup academic competition at Logan County High School this weekend. Coach Nick Skaggs’ team got three first places each from Emilee Gill and Ethan Mullen.
Award winners from RHS were as follows:
Quick Recall: 1st Place (Emilee Gill, Rebecca Orndorff, Trey Farlee, Ethan Mullen, Jason Fox, Jeffrey Fox, Sarah Williams, Kendra Farlee and Phillip Crawford)
Future Problem Solving: 1st Place (both Foxes, Sydney Herndon, Danielle White, Williams and Mullen)
Arts and Humanities: 1st Place, 4th Place—Jason Fox, 5th Place—Trey Farlee
English Competition: 1st Place—Gill, 2nd Place==White, 3rd Place==Kendra Farlee
Science: 1st Place—Mullen, 4th Place—Crawford
Social Studies: 3rd Place Orndorff, 4th Place Trey Farlee
Language Arts: 3rd Place Jeffrey Fox
Principal Kim McDaniel reports that the team also won the Sportsmanship Award.
