On Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, the Russellville High School Class of 2020 participated in a series of individual graduation ceremonies. Each member of the Class of 2020 was able to enjoy a personalized ceremony for themselves and up to six family members.
Operating under the guidance of the Logan Co. Health Department and the CDC, graduates and their families practiced safe social distancing during the ceremony while performing the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” walk, awarding of the diploma and conferment by a RISD Board of Education member, and movement of the tassel. Additionally, there were multiple photo opportunities set up for graduates and their families following the ceremony
The RHS Class of 2020 was a special one and an example of why Russellville High School had quickly regained its status as one of the best Kentucky high schools for academic achievement. The class of 2020 set the new standard for ACT achievement, registering the highest composite score in school history and ranking RHS among the best 50 high schools in Kentucky. 2020 finished their careers with over $400,000 worth of college credit hours earned through the Dual Credit program at RHS as well as the highest ever College and Career Readiness percentage for the school.
With just 54 students in the class, the Class of 2020 boasted a National Merit Finalist, a Craft Academy attendee, and over $500,000 in scholarships awarded.
