The 39th annual Show of Bands will take place at Rhea Stadium on September 16, beginning with the playing of the National Anthem at 5:45.  Senior band students will then be recognized.  Nine bands from across the state and Tennessee are expected to perform in competition that Saturday night.

The Show of Bands is a long tradition for Russellville Independent Schools.  The Russellville Marching Panthers host the event.  Some bands performing have hundreds of members.  The Marching Panthers have fifty members this year.  The show they will perform as the host is called “Playback.”

The event will have concessions sold by the Russellville Band Boosters.  Ticket sales are five dollars with programs for the event being also sold for five dollars. All proceeds go directly to the students.  This year, fundraising and community support are especially important, as the students will be performing at Disney World this spring break.

So please come out and support the Marching Panthers and the community on September 16.  Those living near the stadium may expect a high traffic volume.  There will students from other schools warming up in the general area.  Buses and semi trailers will be parked along the streets, so please try to park your vehicle off of the street for that night in order for Emergency Vehicles to have access if necessary.
