Academic teams shine for Russsellville

RHS Academic Team

The Russellville High School Academic team completed regular season league play this past week at Apollo High School in Owensboro.  Students who placed during this event include the following:

Phillip Wilkerson—1^st JV Science

Anna Shoulders—6^th JV Science

Maleah Buckner—9^th JV Language Arts

The league, which consists of 15 different teams/schools, also released the overall standings in each category.  These four RHS Academic team members placed in the top 10 overall:

Phillip Wilkerson—1^st JV Science

Anna Shoulders—6^th JV Science (tied)

Will Mullen—9^th JV Arts and Humanities

Maleah Buckner—10^th JV Language Arts

Congratulations to these students and our academic team coach, Mrs. Jennifer Rogers.

RMS Academic Team

The 6^th grade members of the RMS Academic team participated this week in the 6^th Grade Showcase hosted by Olmstead Elementary.  Out of 7 schools/teams, the 6^th grade team of RMS came in 3^rd place overall.

The following students placed in individual events, as well:

Luke Skipworth—1^st Math

Jennifer Wilkerson—2^nd Written Composition and 3^rd Language Arts

Addie Cundiff—3^rd Written Composition

Ethan Paddock—4^th Math and 4^th Social Studies

Bryant Wilson—3^rd Science

Congratulations to these 6^th graders, their team and coach, Ms. Tina Shoemake, for such a strong representation at this event!  We look forward to their continued growth with our academic teams!

RHS Panther and  Lady Panther Basketball

The Lady Panther basketball began regular season play this past week with a victory at Butler County against the Lady Bears!  We look forward to more Lady Panther victories this week and to the Panther basketball team getting the season underway, as well. 

Our 1^st doubleheader will be this Friday night on the road at Todd County.  Come out and support our basketball programs this season!
