I would like to take this opportunity to thank so many people that were involved in making our initial Cougar Charity Golf Scramble such a success!

There was so much work that went on behind the scenes by our coaching staff to help make the scramble such a success. They put together breakfast and lunch, collected signs, recorded scoring, and hauled all needed equipment back and forth from school. A big shout out to them for such an amazing effort!

The Logan County Cougar Foundation put forth an amazing effort also, helping to organize the event, collecting and recording fees, and tracking sponsorships. They were a great group to team up with!

The staff at Rolling Hills Golf Course helped us secure a great date for this inaugural event and provided a great deal of guidance about the process of putting on such an event.

Obviously, the golfers that came out and spent the day playing and supporting Cougar Athletics deserve applause. We had golfers of all ages and backgrounds. The banter and the comradery that took place on Saturday was a Blessing!

Finally, a big thank you to our sponsors that gave financially to help put on an event that far exceeded our expectations. Words cannot express our appreciation for their support, but even more so in the caring that came with it. I talked with many of the sponsors in person, by phone, or email. Giving money to help support our programs and kids is one thing, but feeling the care and compassion from our sponsors moved things to another level.

After coaching my whole adult life, I truly understand what it means by saying “the thrill of an all-out effort!” I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing many great moments in athletics over the years. Most had nothing to do with winning, but the relationships that were built along the way. Saturday was one of those moments, a time when handshakes and smiles stole the day! A day when we were all part of something bigger than ourselves! Thank you to everyone who made the golf scramble a great success!
