Farm Safety Day was held on Sept. 14 for all 4th graders attending Russellville and the Logan County Schools. These kids spent the day learning about farm safety and what to do in an emergency.

They went to different stations to talk about chemical safety, 911, water and tractor safety and much more. Logan County FFA members led the role in teaching Animal Safety and ATV safety. They spoke about the importance of staying safe around animals and how to approach them and what to do before you get on an ATV and how to stay safe around them.

At the end of their day, the 4th graders got a demonstration of what it’s really like if an accident happens and what the rescue team would need to do. They even got to hear from a family member of a person who had sustained a farm injury.

As they always say, “Be aware, be alert and be active in Farm Safety.”
