James “Jaybird” Wilson Jr, 93, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. He was born in Lewisburg, Tenn. on September 30, 1924 to the late James Vernon Wilson Sr. and Hettie Carter Wilson. He was a ground man with TVA and a U.S. Army veteran. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Coon Hunters Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Mealer Wilson.

He is survived by his son, Danny V. Wilson and special friend Joanna of Scottsville; his daughters, Margaret Ann Wilson and husband Robert of Schochoh and Carolin Lefervers and husband Gary of Clinton, Tenn.; his sisters, Barbara Ann Martin and Sue Hazelwood, both of Lewisburg, Tenn.; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and special friend Debby Binkley and Edna Schrock.

Funeral services for James “Jaybird” Wilson Jr. will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Wilson and Willis Schrock officiating with burial to follow in Whippoorwill Cemetery in Schochoh. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or The Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
