Ronald Starks, 85, of Oakville Lane, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born June 26, 1932 to the late Claron ‘Hawk’ Starks and Margaret Ann Smith Starks.  

 

He left Rockwell International to pursue his dream of farming. He was a member and served as a past elder at Greenridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a Logan County Magistrate for approximately 17 years, where he served on various committees and boards, and was a Kentucky Colonel.  He also worked with the KABA for a number of years and was a past member of the Cattleman’s Association.

 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Starks; his daughters, Sherry Wright of Frisco, Texas, and Tammy Grise and husband Dwight of Russellville; his granddaughters, Tara Singh and husband Stephen of McKinney, Texas, and Hannah Grise of Kernersville, N.C.; and his great-grandchildren, Myra, Phenn and James Fisher Singh.

 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Starks, and his sister, Sarah Starks.

 

Funeral services for Ronald Starks will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Vaught and Bro. Dan Lovell officiating with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County.  

 

Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until the service time of 1:30 p.m.
