Della Smith, 80, of Auburn, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was a Warren County native, born March 18, 1937 to the late John Leslie Franklin Haley and Dellie Velma Langdin Haley. She worked at Red Kap and Auburn Hosiery Mill and was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Smith.
She is survived by her son ~ Martin Smith and wife Geraldine ~ Hopkinsville; her daughters ~ Mary Ray ~ Lewisburg, Judy Thompson ~ Auburn, and Nancy Shoemake and husband Danny ~ Auburn; her sisters ~ Nellie D. Haley ~ Auburn and Georgia Murphy ~ Hopkinsville; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral aervices for Della Smith will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiating with burial to follow in Auburn Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m.
