Grover Leroy Powers Jr., 69 of Lamplight Lane, Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at Logan Memorial Hospital. He was born July 11, 1947 to the late Grover Leroy Powers Sr. and Irene Mulligan Powers. He was a self-employed attorney and member of the Focus Church.
He is survived by his wife ~ Janice Carol Powers; his step-sons ~ Lloyd Michael West ~ Alabama, Lester Eugene West ~ Franklin, and Steven B. West ~ Elkton; his step-daughter ~ Lena Sharp ~ Sharon Grove; his brothers ~ Floyd Powers ~ Rock Hill, S.C. and James Powers ~ Highpoint, N.C.; his granddaughters ~ Brittany DeWeese ~ Sharon Grove, and Khole West ~ Elkton; his great-grandchildren ~ Gabbriel DeWeese, Kaydence DeWeese and Kyra Cowan.
Funeral services for Grover Leroy Powers Jr. will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with burial to follow in Gant Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 1 p.m.
