It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Betty Lee Wetton, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who went to her home on July 8, 2026.
Born on Jan. 14, 1928, in Louisville, to the late Dr. William L. Brown and Addie Mae Brown, she grew up in Africa and lived most of her adult life in Zimbabwe, Africa (formerly Rhodesia).
She leaves to cherish her memory children: Meherrryl Sundermann (late Rockie), Nat Wetton (Leslie), Glenys Buchner (Alex), Brynley Wetton (Beth); and Mark Wetton (Beth); and her 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nettleship Wetton; her son, Robert Wetton (Sharon Leithoff), her children who died in infancy, one othe grandchild, and all seven of her siblings.
She was truly a Godly woman who loved her family. Her love is a guiding presence for all who knew her. She was a woman who spoke wisdom, and faithful instruction was always on her tongue.
We, her children, thank God for her beautiful life and “rise up and call her blessed;” for “many have done virtuously but thou excellest them all.” (Proverbs 31:28-29).
Visitation will be on Friday July 10, in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Pastor Shane Sunderman officiating services at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
