Roger Lee “Goober” Duncan, 87, of Auburn, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Creekwood Nursing and Rehab. Roger was born in Logan County on April 13, 1939 to the late William and Emma Louise (Pillow) Duncan. Roger was a member of the Plainview General Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee for over 30 Years, retired from Emerson Electric after 30 years where he worked in Quality Control, a farmer and a member of the Logan County Good Samaritan board for several years.
Roger is preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Ramsey.
Roger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Jean Duncan; his daughter, Tammy Duncan of Auburn; his sister, Billie Jane Mallory of Allensville; and his two nephews and a niece.
Funeral services for Roger Lee (Goober) Duncan will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m. at the Plainview General Baptist Church with Bro. Arno Kranz and Bro. Wilbur Powell officiating and burial to follow in the Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel and Tuesday from 11 p.m. until service time at 2 at Plainview General Baptist Church.
