Barbara H. Wright, 79, of Bowling Green, formerly of Russellville, passed away on March 24, 2026 at Select Medical Hospital in Nashville. She was born April 12, 1946, to the late Pete and Ruby Hinson.
She is survived by her husband, Fred “Freddy” Wright of Bowling Green; her son, Chad Wright (Margret) of Cumming, Ga.; her daughter, Courtney Lau (David) of Anchorage, Ky.,; her grandchildren, Braxton Wright, Bennett Wright, Thomas Lau, Grace Lau, Jack Lau; and her great-grandchild, Parker Lau.
Barbara was a member of the Methodist Temple, taught school in Lewisburg for 25 years along with one year in Adairville. She earned her Master's Degree at WKU and her undergrad at Murray State. She was deeply respected as a teacher and friend. She loved her family and was super proud of her grandchildren.
When she and Fred retired, they spent seven years in Naples, Fla. before coming back to Kentucky.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 11, from 10 –11 a.m. with a service from 11:30 to 12:30 with a reception following at the Methodist Temple of Russellville. Arrangements entrusted to Kirby Funeral Services Russellville.
