John M. Southerland, 95, of Russellville, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Medical Center of Russellville. He was born in Lewisburg on July 14, 1929, to the late Fred Southerland and Aylene Welborn Southerland. He was a fastener salesman and was of the Baptist faith.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean L Johnson Southerland; his brothers, Jimmy Southerland and Clayborn Southerland; his sister, Sybil Jeffers; and his great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Smith.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Southerland and his wife Brenda of Russellville and Jeff Southerland of Somerset; his grandchildren, Amy Douglas and husband Jarrod of Central City, Jared Southerland and wife Ashley of Greenville, and Jeana Riggs and husband Jeremiah of Somerset; his great-grandchildren, Amberlynn Douglas, Claire Riggs and Sawyer Riggs; and his great-great-grandchildren, Lilah Smith and Selah Smith.
Funeral services for John M. Southerland will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Noffsinger and Bro. Lloyd Johnson officiating with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
