Michael Lee Hughes, 73, of Auburn, passed away on Jan. 10, 2024 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born in Jackson, Ky. in 1950 to the late Homer H. Hughes and Wanda (Cunigan) Rose.

He is also proceeded in death by his stepmother, Virgie Hughes; his stepfather, Virgil (Rosa Hunter) Rose; his brothers; Gene Hughes, Ronald Hughes, Donald Hughes, Glen Hughes, Jim Hughes and Norman Hughes; and his sister, Patricia Hughes Schmidt.

He is forgiven, loved and survived by his daughter, Stephanie Hughes of Chandlers Chapel; his son, Michael D. Hughes of Auburn, KY; his brother, Paul (Loretta) Rose of Moores Creek; his his grandchildren, Miranda Hughes, Taylor (Zach) Brokofsky, Kelsey (Matthew) Hughes, Mackenzie (Jesse) Kelly, Eden Hughes, Kayeann Hughes, Rayeann Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Vincent Weilage, Natalie Brokofsky, Allison Kelly and Raegan Kelly.

He worked at Emerson for 25-plus years. He also enjoyed keeping the clock at Chandler’s basketball games for 25 years. He helped with girls scouts and was a girl scout leader.
