Russell Owen “Russ” Burchett, 92 of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Church of Christ with Bro. Marvin Crouch officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Russ was born Jan. 21, 1931 in Adairville to the late Artis and Cleoh Jaynes Burchett. He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ and was a retired realtor, auctioneer, and farmer. He spent his spare time golfing, fishing, and watching University of Kentucky basketball. He enjoyed music and dancing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherrie Weinstein, and his sister, Geraldine Campbell.
Surviving him are his wife, Rita Wells Burchett of Springfield; his sons and daughter-in-law, Russell O. “Rusty” and Deborah Burchett, Jr. of Adairville and John Martin of Peachtree City, Ga.; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Edward Hernandez of Dallas; and his six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to either Alive Hospice or Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
