Mary Geneva Sumner Bilbrey, 85, of Greenville, formerly of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville.She was born Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1937, the daughter of the late James Carl Sumner and the late Carrie Pauline Hardison Sumner. She was the wife of the late Otis J. Bilbrey.

She was an assembly line worker at Rockwell and a member of Crittenden Drive Church of Christ. 

Surviving are her daughters, Darlene (Rick) Helfin of Auburn, Freda (Mark) Pogue of Greenville and Fadocia (Steve) Hall of Ashland City, Tenn.; her stepson, Jeffrey Bilbrey of San Francisco; her brother, Eldred Sumner of Lewisburg; her grandsons, Jason Heflin, Jarrick Heflin, Alex Pogue, Ezekiel Hall; her granddaughters, Marla Divine, Karrie Webb and Shandiece Heflin; and her great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Dixon, Kelsey, Carolyn, Harper, Silas, Graysen, Nolen, Hayes, Lucian, Jocelyn, and another on the way.

In addition to her parents and husband, Geneva was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilburn Sumner and Robert Sumner.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg with Steve and Fadocia Hall officiating; Interment will be at Berea Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service on Sunday at Price Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ezekiel Hall, Jason Heflin, Jarrick Heflin, Alex Pogue, Brandon Divine, and Dixon Nash.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Melanie Cook, who made more independent living possible.

They would like to give their gratitude to the caregivers of Maple Health and Rehab and the Courtyard.

They would like to extend another special thanks to Nancy Powell, owner of the Bethel Dipper, for all the strawberry milkshakes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any charity of your choice.
