Jewell Ray Laster, 78, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. He was born Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1945, the son of the late Shelley Laster and the late Lucille Jones Laster. He was the husband of Betty Laster of Lewisburg, who survives.
He was a Surgical Tech at Jennie Stuart Hospital for 42 years, and attended Cliff Hill Baptist Church.
Jewell was a U.S. Army Veteran, who honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era.
He was also an outdoorsman, who regularly deer hunted and spent time on Lake Malone to crappie fish.
Also surviving are his son, Mark Laster of Lewisburg; his daughters, Karen (Mark) Weaver of Louisville and Sarah (Ben) Ambacher of Hopkinsville; his brother, Kulley Laster of Lewisburg; and his sisters, Donnie Painter of Lewisburg and Wanda Wright of Greenville.
A funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg with Bro. Mike Mallory officiating. Interment will be at Cliff Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at Price Funeral Home.
