Ed Coker, 61, of Nicholasville, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at UK Healthcare in Lexington. He was born Tuesday, April 24, 1962, the son of the late Billy Coker and Brenda Smith of Lewisburg, who survives.

He was the husband of Stephanie Coker who survives. Also surviving is his sister, Shannon Bryant of Springfield.

He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Coker.

Ed was a member of Clays Mill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his wife, his mother, and his many friends more than anything. His other loves were farming, cattle, horses, and trucking. Ed farmed in his early life and wanted to do it forever. He showed cattle and even had a business prepping them for shows. All his life Ed was involved in the Tennessee Walking Horse business in various ways.

After he and his wife moved to his favorite city of Lexington, Ed's love for thoroughbreds really came to life. He spent 35 plus years in trucking, much of it as an owner-operator and business owner. He traveled the country, but his favorite item to haul was watermelons out of Florida.

Ed was an avid college basketball and college football fan. While he bled blue for his beloved Kentucky Wildcats, he was also a huge Nick Saban and Alabama fan.

Ed greatly respected veterans and would always shake their hand and thank them for serving. Ed loved all things politics and didn't mind telling you which side of the aisle he was on. He was extremely intelligent and had an amazing memory. He was very friendly, had a huge heart for people and animals, had a fantastic sense of humor, and is already greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Price Funeral Home Inc., located at 252 E Green Street, Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Elk Lick Baptist Church located at 6912 Green Ridge-Spa Road, Lewisburg, KY, 42256 with Bro. Todd Hansen officiating. Interment will be at Elk Lick Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at Elk Lick Baptist Church.
