Mary “Tis” Noe Koester, 99, of Russellville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Orlando, Fla. She was a Logan County native, born March 3, 1924 to the late Barclay Griffith and Grace Kirkpatrick Griffith. She was a loving wife and mother and an excellent cook. Tis was the oldest member of the United Methodist Temple. She was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Barclay Griffith Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Noe Sahlin and husband Rob of Henderson, Nev. And Van Noe Moser and husband David of Orlando; her sister, Kay Chapman of Russellville; her grandchildren, Griffith Sahlin and wife Ji of Santa Barbara, Calif., Mary Britt Sahlin Sullivan and husband Patrick of Boulder, Col,, and Mary McCallen Moser and husband Pratik Thakral of Dallas; her great-grandchildren, Noah Sahlin, Aaron Sahlin and Isla Grace Sullivan; her nephews, Charles B. Griffith and Thomas A. Noe; her nieces, Lee Barclay Page, Sharon Griffith Stein and Jane Noe Duncan.
Funeral services for Mary “Tis” Noe Koester will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at the United Methodist Temple with Pastor Michael Romans officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday at the Temple will be held from noon until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Temple. Envelopes will be available at the church.
